Pruning time in our orchards
July 29, 2022Flowering to date completely normal. Product of the good quantity and quality of cold hours in winter we have had a much earlier flowering start than the previous season: between 7 to 10 days. Lor which makes it very similar to a normal year, having full flower in mid-September.
On the other hand, the rainfall accompanied this winter and allows us to start the season with very good moisture in the soil. In addition to this there is good accumulation of snow in the mountain range which allows to ensure water for the months of greatest water demand that are during December and January.
The climate in the flowering period to date has been beneficial, having some cloudy days which favors pollination by not having extreme temperatures. Avoiding high temperatures that dehydrate the pollen tubes and decreasing the chances of frosts that damage the flower. All this also favors the flight of bees that help pollination.
Finally, the quantities of flowers look normal, between 5 to 6 average flowers per fruit center, which allows us to think that we can have good curdles and project normal production volumes, despite having had a large production last season.
